David brings immense value to clients through his ability to make complex concepts understandable and actionable to all levels of an organization. Calling upon his leadership background in performance improvement and product management, David translates the story being told by the data and demystifies productivity measurement and improvement for executives, managers, and staff alike. When leading projects, he not only drives results but also builds the client capabilities necessary to sustain them.
David has over 30 years of experience working with health systems to enhance operations using various performance improvement methods. Before joining ECG, David worked at Kaufman Hall, where he managed comprehensive performance transformation projects and provided subject matter expertise on workforce-related topics. Recent projects led by David generated annually recurring financial impacts of $16 million at a 200‑bed rural independent community hospital and over $19 million at a 250‑bed community hospital that is affiliated with a large academic medical center. These projects included both expense reduction interventions, such as increasing workforce productivity, reducing length of stay, and improving supply pricing, and revenue enhancements, including decreasing denials, increasing point-of-service cash collections, and growing ambulatory market share.
